I started these for a Paper Toy show at Pink Hobo Gallery but didn’t quite get them wrapped up in time for the deadline. Some day I’ll learn to focus on a single piece of art an not think in series’. I’ll be wrapping them up this week and probably post some of the files on Flickr in case anyone out there wants to make them.

1. I started this site with a bunch of Mario mashups like this, this, and this. They were initially created as quick photoshop coloring and texturing exercises. Here’s a new one I’m working on celebrating Starcraft, beer, and weird frog-lizard kings.

2. I was recently asked to make some art revolving around Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest. Being a 16bit era Square fan myself, I’m not too familiar with the series so I had to ask YouTube for help. I was immediately struck by the visual design of the small dungeon grid so I’m using that as a starting point for the piece.

I should finished inks sometime soon, and then it’s on to colorin’s.

Here’s some paintings I’m working on for an upcoming show. I plan on turning them into a set of prints to sell at conventions. There’s a few more in the works, but I don’t want to get to far ahead of myself. 

Here’s the color version of that last Mustachio sketch. I’m pretty sure I’ll use this style for any prints I make because I like the way the rough pencil contrasts with the smooth coloring. The original pencil art also looks really nice. I also want to try out Painter sometime soon to see how that compares. Next time I’ll draw him atop his awesome motorcycle, or perhaps battling some sort of long haired dinosaur guy.

He’s got amnesia and a mysterious past, and I’m not sure what power his sword is set up with. A pencil test for a color version. I’m going to get some practice in before I do the next comic cover, whic will be in a similar pencils-with-color style.

A quick sketch for a more elaborate drawing I’ve got planned out. The next version will incorporate soldiers underneath, and some sort of menacing figure looming in the background.
