Music Video: 8BITS
I have to thank Chris at PaperBicycle for posting this amazing video. I love when it “Down Grades” into Metal Slug around 4:00. It’s just unfortunate that we don’t get to see this kind of genre/style shifting in actual videogames. Imagine how awesome it would be if Gears of War became a Contra-style side scroller for a level.
Indie Games: Cobalt Teaser Trailer
I stumbled across this amazing looking game over at TIGSource. The art style is cartoony, gritty, and textural all at the same time, and I particularly like all of the small lighting accents in the night scenes.
There isn’t a specific platform mentioned, but I hope that they’re looking into Xbox Indie games along with PC/Mac, or that it goes over well enough for some to pick it up for Live Arcade.
Making Progress…

I finally started taking photos of all my plush peeps today and it went well. I ended up building a DIY light box and sweep which should give me pretty awesome results. The first wave of photos were good, but I need to do another round so they all match, and maybe add some decorative bits for fun, most likely construction paper blood splattering or pools on the ground.
I’ve been meaning to write more posts, but Halo Reach came out and I’ve been dealing with that for a while and I’ve got a bunch of Noble 6 inspired art to make. That and I’m trying to get my Lady Tank up to 50…
Crafty Chris’ Renegade Progress…
Renegade is in one week so I’ve got way too much to do in a short amount of time. This weekend is dedicated to hand sewing, which is my new least favorite making-stuff activity. Here’s a quick looks at some works-in-progress…
The original fabric:

The almost-finished plush peeps:

The plush of the dead:

Buttons! I’m using them to attach tags to until I get proper fabric labels done up:

I submitted some plush folk to the Level 13 art show at Altered Esthetics. Thanks to all my friends that were able to make it. I’m hoping there will be more art shows in the future. The world needs more videogame themed gallery shows.

Way too much missing content…
If anyone happens to be checking out the site, I apologize for all the empty pages. In two weeks or so it will be filled with all sorts of fun pictures, but for now it’s just sad little place holder pages. I’m not so much into the writing as much as the making. It also doesn’t help that I’m going a bit nuts getting ready for the Renegade Craft Fair in a week and a half.
The Level 13 art show at Altered Esthetics tomorrow should be fun and I hope to have some fun pics to show for it. I wish I’d had more mini plushies ready, but what I got done turned out well. Too much to do and not enough time.
As a consolation prize, here’s an awesome video for you:
Cheers.
A quick note on 2009 and beyond…
I know that no one really reads this, but hears my tentative plans for 2009:
-I’m almost finished with a brand new blog, where I will be posting much more in progress work for my new projects. I’m not sure what will happen to this site just yet. I’ll be reworking everything next weekend, once I wrap up the Battlestar story.
-Most of my sites will be getting converted over galleries only, with just the one new blog, instead of all these weird random side project blogs that never get updated.
-A new ongoing comic to be published online, 1 page a week. The goal is to (slowly) get a yearly book together.
-11×17 comic art from now on. I’ve been working at 11×14 for a while now, and I’m not really happy with the results. It’s alright for projects that I’m not into, but the new goal is to work on better, more engaging projects this year.
-Console crush and skullbunny will finally turn into actual products. They will mainly start out as simple paper based products and art prints on etsy. Maybe someone will buy something.
