A Video About Creativity: Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared
Found this via LudwigK on Twitter. You have to watch it to the end, and remember: Green is not a creative color.

I’m not sure why I thought to search a Vimeo for Bearbricks, but this video I found makes me sad…

Now that I have so much free time I’m starting back up with my game development! I’m currently working on 2 games: one super simple and one that’s more complex.
Simple game is a simple dodging game that I’m building with the Unity3D engine as a learning project that I will be able to publish to the web, and maybe iOS if I get that far.
Complex game will be a spinoff of my unfinished comic project Seven Guns of the Old Gods. I’ll mostly be working on animation and style tests in Photoshop and Blender, with the goal of finding a programmer and animator to help turn it into something more.
Here’s some sketches from Complex Game. It has a heavy metal inspired art style and will include lots of brushy hand drawn art. I’ll also figure a way out to include large portrait art on screen occasionally, similar to what I’ve seen in lots of Japanese games but less cutesy/Lolita.

More to come in the future…

I’m a sucker for some good video mapped to 3d spaces. I think this tech could have amazing potential down the road when hooked up with something like Kinect, where it scans your room and starts projecting game elements into it.

I have to thank Chris at PaperBicycle for posting this amazing video. I love when it “Down Grades” into Metal Slug around 4:00. It’s just unfortunate that we don’t get to see this kind of genre/style shifting in actual videogames. Imagine how awesome it would be if Gears of War became a Contra-style side scroller for a level.

I stumbled across this amazing looking game over at TIGSource. The art style is cartoony, gritty, and textural all at the same time, and I particularly like all of the small lighting accents in the night scenes.
There isn’t a specific platform mentioned, but I hope that they’re looking into Xbox Indie games along with PC/Mac, or that it goes over well enough for some to pick it up for Live Arcade.

I finally started taking photos of all my plush peeps today and it went well. I ended up building a DIY light box and sweep which should give me pretty awesome results. The first wave of photos were good, but I need to do another round so they all match, and maybe add some decorative bits for fun, most likely construction paper blood splattering or pools on the ground.
I’ve been meaning to write more posts, but Halo Reach came out and I’ve been dealing with that for a while and I’ve got a bunch of Noble 6 inspired art to make. That and I’m trying to get my Lady Tank up to 50…
