Here’s a preview of some art I’m wrapping up tonight for 4 Color Rebellion’s 20 days of Kirby. Of course I somehow managed to turn a drawing of a character that’s essentially a pink circle into quite a bit of work. Oh well.

My (almost) final submission for the Pokemon show. My sketches lent themselves more to an 8×10 format so I just went with it. I’ll crop it down for the gallery show but have the full size print available on my Etsy shop in the near future

Draft version of my Geodude for the Pokemon Battle Royale Karaoke show. I’m pretty sure it was a karaoke themed show, but I’m not so sure after seeing other people’s entries…
I just wrapped up this Goonies 2 inspired piece for Jimmy Giegerich’s upcoming zine Bits in Multiples of 8. I’m almost never happy with how my black and white art looks so I added a simple layer of pencil shading. It turned out well, save for the rigamarole of trying to scan a 16″x20″ grayscale illustration on my dinky letter size scanner. Looks like I’ll have to try and take some well lit photos and see if that’s quicker. I really enjoy drawing at this size but I need to get a bit more efficient at getting it into the computer.
I also did a really quick color test for a potential print:

Cheers!
Some unfinished sketches for some Halo Reach inspired Valentines.

I just wrapped up this artwork for Ray Barnholdt’s Scroll magazine. It turned out well, even though every time I sit down to color a new piece I instantly forget how to do it and have to relearn everything. I really need to sit down with some smaller pieces and get a better grip on what my color style is. I’ll probably have prints up in my shop soon.

I really want to pick up my old unfinished comic projects and do something with them, but I have zero interest in creating a physical book to sell at conventions and I work too damn slow to keep any readership on a webcomic. I figure it will be much more interesting to create something digital that is heavily tied to physical inked art.
This is a quick test to see how panels transition from one screen to the next in an interesting fashion. It’s built in Flash, with the intent to move to the iPad later down the road. The first batch of content will be linear, but I hope to branch out into more interactive works.

I’m really happy with the initial results, so know it’s on to actually finishing up the art and making some additions to account for the new format. I’ve got 3 existing stories that I’m hoping to give a new home this way.
The first batch of zombies was a bit too heavy on the testosterone so this time it’s all about the ladies.
